Try being who you are... it is an easy thing to do!
Why should we act as other people anyway. Many people adapt, follow trends and so on.So.. they have no stand no views of their own. They just follow the people put under the spotlight. Those people scream instead of singing songs, they wear 'crazy' instead of decent...many people know that. Most people follow their idols..or at least try to in every aspect. For example.. a slight obsession with a celebrity, star, singer, actor equals to mass downloading of wallpapers. Not only this... they even follow the way of speech. Some people even know that the chance to meet their idols are very slim.. yet they support they 'bite' at you when you say something that offends those stars.Come on.. you shouldn't argue with friends or siblings just because of a person you've seen only on tv or because of his of her voice that you've heard on cd.Listen to them, appreciate them.. just don't follow them.Imagine a whole world doing the same thing. That would rub off the word 'Unique','Special'.. from the dictionary.

Ok.. we have always said that we are unique.Fine.. each unique in a different way.We compare ourselves to animals and say we are superior.Yes we are.. we have brains but yet at the time of a natural disaster, the animals sixth sense proves much more helpful in saving lives.Animals have sought higher ground before the waves hit.So, little or no animals perished. We humans got washed off the beach, and places affected are left with nothing. This is only asia.Imagine a natural disaster on a global scale.Won't we be back to the stone age??

Hard to build easy to be destroyed. Why work hard?10 years work.. vanish in a matter of seconds.Just do work that you are supposed to do...and probably relax.People say, you see things you really treasure when your time is nearly up.Something like a slideshow in your mind.Sad right.. why don't we realize what we really treasure all the time instead of just the few seconds.Humans are not perfect, but being your own self is not something to regret doing. It's a gift.

Today I went to watch Kung Fu hustle.Erm had some time.. earlier on while waiting for friends so I went to eat at Tun Jugah. The place we were supposed to meet.I wasn't there early... but I was early cause my other friends were late.Anyway I had lemon chicken rice and a coke... After that it was nearly 8.So we rushed to catch the 8pm Kung Fu hustle...unfortunately it was full.So we had to wait till 9pm.

So.. what did we do?We went to the arcade.Wasted some time there..spending tokens.. and then when it is time for movie we didn't have enough for popcorn and drinks.=(.

Hm so Joel left today for the UK.Soon many more people would leave.A sad sight, but a taste of reality.Suddenly the world is getting smaller now that everyone is leaving....but it will grow eventually again when you find new friends and meet old friends.

Ok..back to Kuching.~Home sweet home~.It is so hot out there at Perth...although it is very cold at night and in the early hours of the morning. But well seems like everyone there is used to the degree of heat there.

I arrived at Perth, waited for at least an hour for our transport.Ugh wasting time.Anyway I arrived,I thought it was afternoon 1pm.It was so bright...when it was only 5am.Since the group I went with consists of 3 families,we have 16 people.=) .My family shared a van/minibus with another family..while Melvin's family got a way better car.We toured the streets of Perth with maps only.

We checked in a hotel.Actually... not really a hotel.A service apartment. After that we went on walking the streets.Think it is busy?No... .There's nearly no cars.. not even a soul and this is Perth city.!Everyone is celebrating Christmas eve and Christmas at home.Only some shops were open.On the first day I went for hungry jacks.Quite impressed at the way they do their stuff. You can order your food and collect your food without getting out of your car.You just order the food through a microphone and then you drive to the other side to collect it.It's called the drive thru system.Also..since I've been in Kuching all this while, I've never seen a cleaner place than Perth.People there can lie down on the grass anytime..the place is clean!.

The river in Perth looks like an ocean. The water is so clean that all that is in there is aquatic life.I sat on the cruise.A package called cynic cruise I think.Hm the view is nice. The city is organized. However it was a near 3 hours cruise and I fell asleep after a while. Can't blame me!There is air conditioning..it is just so comfortable.

I also went to see Canning College.Curtin was closed so I can't go in Vickery house. So I still do not know my address there=(.Also... during summer, it is not very fun to walk around Perth. The flies would bother you...and you will be annoyed..Really annoyed.Hm..I also witnessed a small part of a wedding.A chinese girl marrying some foreigner..and it was done in traditional chinese costume.I saw it...at a park.Hahah.A friend guided us there..my former schoolmate and Melvin's classmate.Earlier on we went to his house and I guess ate all the biscuits..Of course it is hard to feed 16 hungry people.

On the last day,I went to a beach. The place is nice...and the toilets are clean unlike some places. After that, we decided to dine in a chinese restaurant for dinner.I don't know what to say..wasn't very nice. The waitress.. voice is so high pitched. She also is not polite.I guess she is not right somewhere in the head. She also has a habit of scratching her backside every while and then.If you eat at that restaurant,I'll recommend the need for more company...if not you will freak out. When we finished,we were ver thankful .We just got out.

I also met a very helpful person at the petrol kiosk. At first I thought he was an attendant because he was cleaning a car.And because he even offered his service to us,I did not have a reason to doubt that...until,he entered the car next to us and joined his family.haha.After that we went back.Checked the price needed to be payed by each family and finish the math.Slept early to catch the early plane at 6.40am .

Derek | 4:30 pm

Thursday, December 23, 2004

Soon..I'll be off for Perth.Just in about 7 hours 59 minutes time.Probably I'll sleep in the plane.I'm not sure whether it is a five hour or a 3 hour flight but..both are long as I've never went so far before.Sleep sleep.

The after I wake up...I'll tell myself its not a dream.. it is sweet reality.hehe.So many people have left today. Those that I know...erm Kin Chern is going KK for holiday..Crystal.. to KL.Oh..and Gloria would be back..today.Then leaving again to Sarikei..right?Yes.. good memory.hehe

So I have returned Joel's cd yesterday. It was the original warcraft cd.I installed it.. thought after installation could play it.. but couldn't.I still needed the disc.If I knew I would not have borrowed it and later worry bout forgetting to return it to him.Went to garden steamboat yesterday and have mixed the weirdest of things into the food.First up is the watermelon..and then we added pandan flavour.Weird..

After that we went to Lakepark to have a walk. And at that time, the sky got dark..and everything,hurricanes...then it started to rain.As we went in a group,we had to go to the cafe at Lakepark before we get soaked. After that, we just sat and talked and listen , got some drinks.. and we did notice that they only have a small collection of songs. That is what we assumed cause the songs are always repeating itself. No variety.

2 more days! Then I'm off..on holiday...or vacation. The venue is Perth and I'm leaving on Christmas eve.Woohoo.Think it's great?Yes.. the place is nice..I heard, but the timing is wrong. All shops would be closed.Poor me.haha.Anyway I'll be privileged to see Christmas overseas.I expect something more grand than Kuching.

First.. I'm still not sure of where to visit. The beach? The desert? The zoo? or the fruit farms.Hmm probably there are more destinations for me but I guess this is a rough idea of where I'm going to visit.Oh and I forgot to say.. I'll most probably go take a look at Canning College. My parents want a survey.. so there's the plan.

Today... drove at 7th mile with supervision.Wasn't a very nice experience though.Heavy traffic and so on.I prefer to drive and keep moving...not staying behind other cars.. and trapped in a traffic jam.All that makes my legs tired..

Buy what you can because there are some things that you can't afford.
-The motivated spendthrift_

Ahah.. don't practice that too much.. just once in a while.Choose a perfect occasion like now.The festive season. We have Christmas...then Chinese New Year later. The reason I chose to put down that quote was because I watched 'Christmas with the Kranks'.The Kranks decided to skip Christmas. They wanted to save enough money for a cruise later on after Christmas. What do you think? Is that acceptable?

Erm I'm just trying to say.. you can't really count your money. In other words being stingy.I mean something like skipping Christmas or Chinese New Year is totally unacceptable. There is a time to spend money... and on certain occasions we must enjoy to the fullest.AND these occasions happens only once every year.

hehe..so whats the point of my message?Arm yourself with cash..invade the shopping complexes and get me something!A gift.lol

Dang... the "House of Flying Daggers" I downloaded was corrupted. What a waste of effort.

Many people think ahead. So do I.However I think of the more not important matters first.Weird... I would be one of those who want to do the easier things first.I would be one of those who would buy time for whatever things I do if I could.Right now I still have no idea of what I'm gonna study. So that's an example.Life is an uncertainty and that is certainly true for mine and for the majority of the people.

What now!Recently I've been downloading movies and storing them in my hard disk.Trying to fill it..60 gig...that's so much work!=p.Currently I've got two.One is 'Christmas with the Kranks' and the other is 'Princess Diaries 2'.Currently I'm downloading National Treasure and House of Flying Daggers.I wonder whats making me do this.Maybe missing a few chances to watch a movie in a cinema?Don't know...or maybe because I can.

Today is my father's birthday! So is his company's anniversary dinner. So both together means saving cost.hehe.We ate at carvery today. So full. The meat never seems to finish. It keeps on coming.Furthermore...you can ask for more. It's under the company's bill so no harm to me.hehe.Today is so different from yesterday.Yesterday ate vegetables only..today meat only.

This is not a balanced diet.Oh... and I drank expresso today.Don't know whether I can sleep tonight. It's a test..if I could it probably means that the coffee isn't strong enough or perhaps I'm immune to caffeine.

Derek | 10:39 pm

Friday, December 17, 2004

Say today...my friends went to watch a movie.I didn't.For some personal reason and because of that missed the fun.Sigh.Hmm can't do anything about that."If only I could turn back the hands of time".

As usual, today I went for driving lessons again.I like changing gears and all..but I hate parking. And also hate reversing.Today,I just went to a place at 6th mile and did just that..changing gears.I drove around the neighbourhood there and luckily no traffic. So no fear...unless of course I crash into something that isn't mobile. That of course would be impossible because I am not in full control of the car. There's my instructor by my side.

So much to say?No..I'm running out of things to type.By the way, later on in the afternoon,it rained...at my grandma's house.Anyway to sum it all up,just now my grandma's house smells like incense.Ah.. and I was a vegetarian for today.Yes..isn't that torture... only vegetables!Oh well that's just once in a while.

Jokes are fun. While of course sometimes it isn't when they are played on you.But anything can happen, especially when you try to have fun by scaring the wits off people by playing Osama bin Laden.A taxi driver shot a jokester .The jokester was wearing a plastic mask of Osama and he also had a pellet rifle in his hand. The taxi driver might have a shock of his life when he saw Osama with the rifle but he would be the one laughing after that. You know what, the taxi driver wasn't arrested as the police believed he was doing that as an act of self defence. So see the taxi driver could just say "In your Face" to the jokester. What a joke.

It rained again today!.So..in this context, we can say today is no different than any other day.I still had the same schedule for today.Driving then back home. However to get out of my house is real work. There is some work done further up the road causing a major jam in front of my house for nearly a whole day and that isn't nice. And the weather hasn,t been very helpful.

On another note, something exactly the same can't happen another time in front of your eyes right?Unless you have a mental problem. Then you shouldn't be here.Yous should go for a checkup or something.Anyway,I just wanted to say, previously my instructor brought me to an empty parking lot at third mile to drive.Today he brought me to civic centre and then to the 7th mile driving centre.Haha.Nothing much ... just a change in venue.

mm I was just thinking if the holiday goes on like this, the holiday would seem pretty short.Short!

Derek | 8:47 pm

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

Vroom...Yup.Today I got to do other things besides steering the wheel.I always had the urge to learn how to drive... and now I'm learning but it doesn't seem so fun now.I keep on worry myself.Ahah of course there's the instructor to do what he is supposed to do so why should I be?I don't know.. it's just me.So should I pity myself for lack of confidence...don't think so.Anyway I learned to use the gears, reverse, and most importantly move.My instructor kept complaining about my eyes and how I hold on to the gear.ahh... first timer bah.

...oh..and I still can't get myself to reverse in a straight line.

After driving for a while,I got back home.Safe! That's a wonder.. since my instructor drives without his seatbelt put onto him.Wonder how he got his licence to teach. He also answers phone calls in the car without handsfree.

Maybe it is true that once you know what you are doing, you need not follow rules. After all the results are the same.He still goes home safe...how sure am I?Well he is supposed to pick me tomorow.

Hmm I think I'm going to have spending this whole holiday learning driving. What a waste of good mood and good time.I should be out roaming about town with a grand car instead of driven around in a kancil.

I like animations, cartoons and anime.Yes it is fiction ... and that's what I like about it.It is fiction yet they can make it sound reasonable or logical for those already swept into the 'other' world.

In reality we know that cells are the basic thing of all life forms right.Ok so say in a cartoon ,they say there is such a skill..say regeneration.Which means .. they can regenerate cells fast enough so they would never get wounded or die in battle. We know that that isn't possible.. but we know that if only we could regenerate fast enough it would be possible.

This is what I like about them. They hold no boundaries. They are theories, ideas that might not be fiction in the future.Innovation and creativity?I guess so.Of course the writers of scripts and plots for such anime, comics or cartoon have made it as convincing as possible to the readers. And to measure how much of a genius they are,you just need to know how many people read or watch their work.
____________________________________________________________________

So much for that.I had a short day.I sort of woke up late today as I slept late yesterday.Maybe turning nocturnal.Just now I just had a sudden urge to write about the above. What do you think?Makes sense?Sometimes I'm also not sure about what I'm thinking.Haha.Oh.. and yesterday..it rained so heavily that it got parts of my roof useless. It leaked.Luckily ..that didn't get my bed wet.

Bad experience.I was so tired cause I'm starting to sleep late.I sleep late but I still wake up early.Argh.Woke up for breakfast as usual. After a while it was lunch again.OMG.That was because I ate an early lunch. My instructor came to pick me at 12.30.Rushed to the place...and got a seat. But!!When I went there,it was 1pm.Yes it was early. The worst thing was the lecture didn't start till 2pm.I was also moved from 1 class to another.SO annoying.

Most probably it's the 'peak' season.Too many people.Extra plastic chairs were brought into the room to accomodate more people. That's about it.The lesson was boring.I had a headache when trying to listen. Was too long.. and I was too sleepy.

I've got points though.Something like the Kancil have three pistons.Hmm what else can I remember?!.Ahhh having amnesia!Either that or I just wasn't paying attention.Sometimes I just wonder whether classes or lectures like those are just a formality to go through.Wasting my precious time.I'm racing with time trying to get a license before I go to Perth.Time gives such limitations...so annoying.

Just came back from a party. Not to say party actually. It's just a pot luck at a friend's house. He is... home alone....for 2 more days!.haha.Lucky he had us...friends that do not mess up the house.lol.Anyway some of us did help cleanup the food accept the ashes at the back.Yup ashes of?? our f5 excercise books. We made a fire... and that fire we used to get food ready.

OKay..we had fun with msn.We never did had that much fun for msn before.Something like using multiple accounts?Yup that's it.AND we watched white chicks again.Watched it many many times already... and I still find it funny. What's wrong with me!haha.

Anyway, some of my friends played football in the house.!!.And they keep saying they still have two days to replace broken stuff.Crazy!haha.That is something about having fun I guess.Insanity...something that's abnormal I guess

Now that I have the time to appreciate the presents that I have recieved I did.First up the robot. The Gundam thing.I figured it took a lot of time so I left it for the last.Up next was a book.It will also take a long time to read..but I figured that I could read chapter by chapter. The title of the book is The Sicilian by Mario Puzo.

How I read it.
I read it from the back...I mean the summary.Only then I started reading.Nothing special about that.yup haha. But I started by counting off the chapters.Alltogether 31 chapters...and currently I'm on chapter 2.Still lots of work!

At the front ,at the back there's lots of comments bout the author and the book.I'm going to ignore all that and find out for myself. All those extra bit of info are just spoiling all the fun.I want to explore the writers creativity and rate it myself.

Anyway shouldn't be writing about this. The real reason I'm writing this is because it has something to do with Godfather in it.I'm still not so sure but yeah.Just pleases my ears.

Today I waited 1 hour plus for my instructor to pick me up and he didn't arrive. You know why?He was stopped by the rain.Bah what excuse is that..so I have to go again tomorow.

Derek | 9:09 pm

Wednesday, December 08, 2004

Today,I opened two presents.1 from Daphne and 1 from Gloria.Hehe.thanks.That is a nice way to start of the day.Aha.Well,nice.Soon after that my mum told me that my instructor would come to pick me up later.Wah I thought...so rush!.I still felt like being lazy for 1 more day before learning how to drive.

Anyway, didn't do much today.Just learn how to steer the wheel.Yes I just started so I start easy.=p

A relative of mine..um more accurately my uncle came from Hong Kong.Because of that I went to eat at Peter's Special today. So full. And also I'm getting rather tired of dinners.I mean grand ones.
For the last two days I've eaten seafood.Today eat again.I'm getting worried...I am afraid I can't go back to maggi mee.Haha.

I guess that is about my day today.

I've been living in the jungle for approximately 4 days and.. I suppose I have to update myself.Hehe.Oh and that trip to Damai cost me my Utopia account...but that doesn't matter.I'll restart when the new age starts.

Derek | 9:33 pm

Back!!!.After four days I'm real glad to be back.=) I enjoyed the last few days.Of course I did. But, of course nothing comes without doing anything. So ... to have fun,I just sacrificed my legs.So Tired!

First of all we got what was supposed to be some sort of luxury because we stayed at the hiltop.Soon enough we figured out it wasn't so.Of course the location was good and peaceful. But,we the reason of the trip wasn't for peace, was it?

Firstly I'll list out what we have at the hiltop.Rooms,a pool, and nothing else.SO what about the main attractions of Damai...the BEACH.Well we had to take stairs down to the beach since we had a hiltop. That was a breeze. However coming up was as good as hell.Thinking of training for stamina,I really think that is the way or the road that should be taken.

First few days of Damai,we had GOOD food.We had mee,mee and more mee besides the eggs and buffet in the mornings.Besides that ,we only had barbeque. In short those days were long.Xtremely long considering we hardly had enough sleep.Yeah wonder what we did.For xtra info,we had xbox,ps2 and laptops in our inventories.Brush out all this indoor stuff. We went swimming, got under the scorching sun at the beach, and climb the great mount Santubong.Did we reach the summit? If you ask me I say yes.But to be honest don't ask me.haha.

For the last two days, we just went for seafood.Ahh such a contrast compared to the first few days.Of course I ate as much as I could.

Guess what!We brought 3 trays of eggs. How much have we still got?2!.We got an idea to play foodfight with those eggs. But since those eggs were not rotten and are still edible, one of my friends exclaimed,"I do not agree with wasting good food." And so we scrapped off the plan and went home.

HooraY.All that I've been studying for... 1 fact now is,you ask me anything,I can't remember a thing.haha.Short term memory..but well it works well enough for me.

I had a party just now.The food was catered from Honey Bistro.I don't really know the place well but it was recommended by my father.Actually we only got two type of dishes and we got their staff to do the BBQ.Other than that the food was made by my mother.

Ohh..at my party I just stirred up a new interest in an old game called carum..or at least thats the way it is pronounced.Anyway the main attraction was of course the projecter. It was however not mine.It was brought back from my fathers office.Using that , we hooked up the network and played warcraft 3.We even surfed the net as well, looking up some weird and funny videos.Even saw some disgusting pictures those that would make you lose apetite straight away once you have eye contact with it.*Puke*

Some guy on the net had nothing better to do than uploading those pictures.Yuck.Imagine deformed things, bodies, corpse what so ever.Disgusting!

mm so today was the first time some of my classmates that have known me for all my school years come to my house.cool huh.last year, last day of spm.Because of that I brought some of them to tour my house.=) fact,it is an old house really.
